Privacy and Security

We respect your privacy and do everything possible to protect your data. Below you will find the data we collect and for what purposes we use it. You can also see what your rights are, who has access to your data, and how long these are retained.

Data that DB Consulting collects about you

If you buy a product, sign up for our newsletter, connect to our services, contact us (whether via social networks or not), participate in an online survey or interact in any other way with DB Consulting, we may collect various data, including :

  • Your contact details such as your name, address, telephone number, and email address, or any other data, such as the name of your company, its address, and VAT number
  • Your account data, such as your email address, the status of your account
  • Your payment data, such as your billing address and payment method
  • Your transaction data about the purchase of products and services from DB Consulting
  • Other data you provide us with, such as the content of communications with DB Consulting, contacts with our customer service and on social networks

Phone Contact

If your telephone number is in our customer database, our employees can automatically see your customer data. This is so that we can serve you more quickly and efficiently. During a conversation, we may add notes to your personal data in our database. In this way, we can provide better follow-up to these conversations. We do not record our telephone conversations.

Newsletters and Emails

We send you different types of emails. This includes after a purchase you have made or in response to a question you have asked us.

In addition, we also send you general emails (which we call "newsletters"), but only when you have subscribed to them (what is called "opt-in"). When you sign up for one of our newsletters, we only save the data we need to identify you. If you no longer wish to receive one of our newsletters, you can unsubscribe online.

We are, of course, delighted that you watch our videos on YouTube, give us a "like" on Facebook or follow us on LinkedIn. We show you useful ads on social networks that relate to our new products or offers, based on your interests. This is possible thanks to cookies.

Your Rights (and ours)

What is the "legal basis" for using your data?

According to data protection legislation, we must indicate on which "legal basis" we use your data. We need your data due to the contractual agreements between you and DB Consulting, such as the purchase of a product or a service.

Consider, for example:

  • Drawing up quotes
  • Confirmation of an order
  • Contractually required information on the service
  • We may also use your data in a "legitimate interest". This means that we want to offer all our customers as optimal and personal service as possible. This applies, among other things, to: surveys, contact with our customer service, visits to our site, newsletters and emails, personal advice, and social networks. We may also be legally obliged to use your data, particularly when we suspect a case of fraud.

Who has access to your data?

Within our company, everyone has access to your information to some extent. Our employees do everything in their power to respect your privacy.

In some cases, we also share your data with other parties:

  • Partners: when you buy a product from us, your data is shared with our partners.
  • Subcontractors: when we want to send you a postal mailing (for example, a magazine), we often use a processing company.
  • Data management platforms, advertising and media agencies, and research offices: occasionally, we use external companies to help us. In this case, we give them access to the statistics of our site(s) and our social network accounts.

However, the following always applies: the parties to whom we give access to your data can only use them to provide you with a service on behalf of DB Consulting. Your data is never sold to third parties.

Where do we store your data?

Your data can be located in one of these places:

  • Paper archives. Documentary evidence of financial transactions (such as invoices) is not only preserved digitally, but also on paper support. We keep them for at least 10 years. These archives are stored securely, under lock and key.
  • Temporary paper prints. Sometimes, it's simply easier to have a paper support. If this document includes personal data, it is destroyed with a shredder after use.
  • Digital support. We save your data in databases while adhering to strict security measures. This is why your data is almost always stored within the European Union. In the exceptional case where customer data is transmitted to countries outside the European Union, we ensure adequate respect for your privacy. For several countries, this is officially established. Some American parties have adhered to the Privacy Shield, which offers a sufficient level of protection. Or we work with official standard contracts, specifically established to guarantee the respect of your privacy.

How long do we store your data?

The duration for which we keep your data depends on the relationship we have with you.

  • If you purchase a product or service. We do not delete your data from our database. We do this for security reasons.
  • If you request information. If you haven’t purchased anything from us yet and are requesting information about our products or services, we register you in our database. After ten years of inactivity, we delete your data.
  • If you sign up for a newsletter. You can manage this subscription online yourself. We keep a copy of this subscription in our customer database.
  • If you apply. We delete the data relating to your application at most 1 month after the end of the recruitment process. In some cases, we deviate from this practice, notably if we want to contact you later for new job offers. However, we only do this with your agreement. If you are hired, we attach your application data to your contract.

The tax administration obliges us to keep your billing, payment, and order data for 10 years. Then, we only use anonymous data for internal reports.

What are your rights?

You remain the master of your data. Do you want to consult your personal data for free or receive a copy? Do you want to modify your data, delete it, limit its use, or adapt your preferences for email sending? No problem. Let us know by mail or email. In this way, you can also object to the use of your data for commercial purposes or indicate that your privacy is more important to you than our interest. In this case, we will review the situation.

You can easily unsubscribe from newsletters. To do this, use the link at the bottom of the newsletter. And if you no longer want any cookies? You can also set this yourself. To know how to do it, check out our section on cookies.

We want to make sure that it's really you. That's why we might ask you for additional information to determine your identity. This can happen in the case of unclear requests.

Privacy questions

For any question or complaint about your personal data and the protection of your privacy, you can contact us by email: info@dbconsulting.world or by mail.
